Come to a hands-on cooking class on Thursday, March 11th at 7pm, when Pam Simon, baker extraordinaire, will demonstrate three cookie/pick-up dessert recipes, that are not only kosher for Passover, but are also gluten-free!

Sid Kaye Honored as “Keeper of the Flame”

The Annual Keeper of Flame Awards luncheon, given to honor individuals who demonstrate
their commitment and contributions in keeping the Jewish flame alive, will be held
at Beth El Temple in West Hartford Sunday March 14 at 1 PM.
The luncheon will benefit the CT Valley Region of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs
of which The Emanuel is a member.

The Ct Valley Region of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs will recognize and honor
Sid Kaye as this year’s Emanuel award recipient.

Reservations and copy for the tribute book are due by February 18.

Speaker Lars Guldager was born in Denmark and was 8 years old when the Nazis invaded Denmark in 1940. He will tell us about some of his experiences to thwart the Nazis and help the Jewish population living under Nazi control. Lars eventually came to the U.S. and earned a PhD from Boston College. He is now retired and resides in West Hartford.

Everyone is welcome to join us to hear Lars and enjoy lox & bagels, Danish, herring, coffee, and more!!!
