We also have a babysitting room and a parent/child Early Childhood Center play-space with games, a puppet theater, dress-up area, baby area, reading corner, etc. Our Early Childhood Center is open and available for children and parents together during all service times.

Challahpalooza, in our Early Childhood Center on the first Shabbat morning of each month, is a play-based program for children five and under with free choice stations, circle-time, and a Shabbat friendly group activity. The program concludes with Adon Olam on the bima followed by kiddush with the entire Emanuel community. This program is free and open to all.

Bagels, Blocks, and Beyond, held approximately six Sunday’s a year, is a holiday based program for pre- school aged children and their parents, Through music, art, and stories, these programs teach about the major Jewish holidays such as Hanukkah, Purim, and Passover. B, B and B is free and open to the community.

In addition to all the activities happening in the synagogue, The Emanuel has an active social group called Young Families at Emanuel Synagogue. This lay led group comprised of both members and potential members, hosts social gatherings outside of the synagogue three to six times a year. Activities include Jewish programs like Shabbat dinner picnics and Hanukkah parties as well as non-religious activities that are purely social.
