We invite our congregants to become active participants in prayer. No prior knowledge is required to participate in our services. We aim to offer growth, increasing knowledge, and meaningful spiritual prayer experiences to all who join us.
The Emanuel is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue and extends full rights, honors, and participation to women. We feature an active daily minyan(pl. Minyanim) – The 10 Jews that form the quorum required for a full prayer service. with multiple prayer times on weekdays, and we serve breakfast after Shaharit Sunday through Thursday.
Children are welcome on the bimahThe raised platform in the front of the sanctuary where those leading the service stand. and asked to lead parts of our services. On all shabbatot during the school year we have either Family Services or Junior Congregation. Tot Shabbat(pl. Shabbatot) – The seventh day (Saturday). According to the TorahLiterally the first 5 books of the Bible also known as Humash, the Pentateuch or The Five Books of Moses. The word Torah is also used to refer to all of Jewish learning., God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day. Therefore, we are commanded to rest on the seventh day. is on the first Shabbat morning of each month.
