On a rainy day, we girls decided to bring some sunshine to our Emanuel community, by doing the mitzvah of bikur cholim, visiting the sick. We stopped at the McLean Rehab Center, to see Sam Goodman, a member of the Emanuel that you can always spot on Saturdays. Unfortunately he suffered a hip injury and was hospitalized. He has been doing physical therapy to get healed at the Rehab Center. Our visit not only made him feel better, but made us feel like we did a good deed. Denise Order has been decorating the Banks Garden Lobby for Shabbat morning kiddush. The space can also be used for wedding showers, brit milah, baby naming and other small parties.

Last week Denise created baskets of flowers to hang from the ceiling above beautifully decorated tables.

On April 17, Rabbi Lazowski led us in a brief ceremony to attach a Mezuzzah on the outside of the front door. Note the position is handicap accessible.
