The Emanuel Social Action Committee is supporting two Hartford Public School classes who need school supplies: a Pre-K through 2nd-grade class at Dwight Bellizzi School and a 3rd through 5th-grade class at Naylor School. These students are eager to learn, but many lack access to basic materials that support their growth and well-being.
What’s Needed
The Pre-K–2nd grade class is looking for items that support motor skill development, including:
• Colored pencil boxes
• Large crayon boxes
• #2 pencil boxes (sharpened, with erasers)
• Play-Doh
• Glue sticks
• Finger paint
• Child-safe scissors
The 3-5 Grade class needs snacks, since food is not always available. Single-serve or individually packaged items are best, such as:
• Boxes of Granola or cereal bars
• Lunch snacks
• Chips, pretzels, or popcorn
• Fruit snacks
• Animal crackers
• Goldfish
We’d love for each family to bring one item for each classroom to our Build Your Own Light Chanukah Celebration on Wednesday, December 17, if possible. As a thank-you, you’ll receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a festive gift basket!
