About World Jewish Relief

Founded in 1933 in response to the growing crisis facing Jews in Europe, World Jewish Relief has always been an organization shaped by moments of urgency.

From helping Jews escape Nazi persecution, including thousands of children through the Kindertransport, to supporting people today facing war, displacement, and extreme poverty, the work has evolved, but the core mission has not.

Today, World Jewish Relief reaches more than 180,000 people each year in around 20 countries, from Ukraine to communities across Africa, and from Israel to Haiti. The focus is simple and practical: helping people rebuild their lives with dignity.

World Jewish Relief USA is the organization’s U.S. arm, expanding awareness and engagement among American audiences and creating opportunities for individuals and communities to take part in this global humanitarian mission.
