DESCRIPTION:Iyyun Tefillah: Learning Jewish Prayer\nat The Emanuel Synagogu
 e\n\nNext Session: Saturday\, 12/3\, 9:15 am\n\nJoin our student rabbi\, S
 ass\, to improve your understanding of tefillah\, Jewish prayer\, and your
  ability to follow along in the siddur\, the prayerbook. Throughout the ye
 ar\, we will learn specific prayers and their origins. We will also ask\, 
 “what makes prayer Jewish\, and how can we develop a prayer practice tha
 t is rooted in Jewish tradition?” Sessions will end in time to join Tora
 h service around 10:00.&nbsp\;\n\nOn December 3\, we will discuss the Amid
 ah\, the standing prayer at the center of each of our services. We will st
 udy various Mishnah regarding spontaneous and personal prayer and look at 
 the way the Amidah changes during the week and holidays.\n\nFuture session
 s are planned for 1/21\, 2/4\, 3/4\, 4/1\, and 5/6. Come to one\, some\, o
