 nFounded in 1998\, The Afro-Semitic Experience is a genre-defying American
  roots jazz ensemble composed of Jewish-American and African-American musi
 cians that has been performing\, recording\, and teaching together for ove
 r 25 years. Their friendship ignites their passion and purpose.\n\nTogethe
 r\, as a band\, they merge their musical roots\, Jewish and Afro-diasporic
  melodies and grooves\, combining the core concepts of ase and shalom - po
 wer\, action\, unity\, and peace. The result is a powerful and poetic musi
 cal experience that celebrates diversity\, promotes social justice\, and i
