Kol Shirenu—The Emanuel’s Intergenerational Choir enhances our services on festivals and occasionally on Shabbat, serving as a social, musical, and spiritual outlet for our members.


  • High Holy Day Services.
  • Shabbat Shira (The Sabbath of Song).
  • The Sharon Barshay Music Service or Concert in the spring.
  • Senior residences including St. Mary’s Home and Hebrew Health Care.
  • Wadsworth Atheneum

The choir is under the direction of Hazzan Sanford Cohn, with Fern Cohen assisting.

Building Bridges: Songs of Unity & Healing

Join Hazzan Cohn in this community event designed to  promote deep healing and a feeling of unity. This event will be apolitical and non-religious, only involving song. It will last approximately 45 minutes.

The Junior Choir sang Chanukah songs at St. Mary Home.

The Emanuel Junior Choir consists mainly of children in grades 3 through 6, but some younger children participate as well.

We have performed at:
– Services and concerts at the synagogue
– Hughes Health and Rehabilitation Center
– Holiday Stroll in West Hartford Center
