Choir at The Emanuel enhances our services on festivals, and also serves as a social, musical, and spiritual outlet for our members, and come under the direction of Hazzan Sanford Cohn. For more information about Choir, contact: Hazzan Cohn, by Email, or  (860) 236-1275,

Kol Shirenu

Adult Choir, for ages 13 and above. Must be a lover of Jewish music! No auditions necessary; those wishing to join Kol Shirenu must meet with the Hazzan to determine voice placement. Non Synagogue members are welcome. Fern Cohen is our Assistant Director and Accompanist, and Ruth Weiner serves as coordinator.

Kol Shirenu Performances:

High Holy Day Services – Shabbat Shira (The Sabbath of Song). – The Sharon Barshay Music Service or Concert in the spring, – Senior residences including St. Mary’s Home and Hebrew Health Care – Wadsworth Atheneum.

The Emanuel Junior Choir:

For children grades 3rd – 7th. All levels welcome
Rehearsals are on Wednesday afternoons

We have performed at:

– Hughes Health and Rehabilitation Center
– Holiday Stroll in West Hartford Center
