United Synagogue Youth (USY)

Teens from The Emanuel Synagogue are members of WHUSY chapter of United Synagogue Youth (USY). WHUSY (West Hartford USY) is comprised of teens from The Emanuel Synagogue, Beth El Temple and Bnai Tikvah Shalom.

Activities include: Social justice, USY Shabbat, Teen High Holy Day services, USY Encampment, Israel Pilgrimage, USY on Wheels, International Convention….and just plain fun!   We welcome you to join us!

Jr. USY Youth group for Grades 6, 7, and 8

Jr USY is a youth organization under the auspices of the United Synagogues of Conservative Judaism. Its purpose is to involve Jewish pre-teens in a meaningful relationship with Judaism in a positive environment that is educational, religious, and social.

Our Kadima middle-schoolers will:

  • Socialize with their Jewish peers.
  • Take a responsible role in synagogue life.
  • Participate in various mitzvah projects.
  • Experience a wide variety of activities including trips, social justice projects, sports, dances, Laser Tag, Rock “n” Bowl, and more!
  • Regional events offer opportunities to connect with other Kadimaniks from throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.
