Hedyth Fishman on the birth of a granddaughter, Riva Bella Iankelevich on Aug. 4, 2017. Proud parents are Monica Fishman and David Iankelevich of New York, New York. Riva is welcomed by siblings, Samuel and Mia. Riva is the granddaughter of the late Bob Fishman.

Michael and Lisa Lenkiewicz and Rebecca and Zachary Lenkiewicz and their entire family on the passing of their sister, sister-in-law and aunt Joan Lenkiewicz, Oct. 7, 2017/17 Tishrei 5778. The funeral will be held in Wallingford. The Lenkiewicz family will join the evening minyan in The Emanuel Chapel on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 5:45 p.m., and will receive visitors in the Banks Garden Lobby following minyan. Memorial donations may be made to Rabbi Small’s Discretionary Fund or to the Solomon Schechter Day School, 26 Buena Vista Road, West Hartford, CT 06107.

Brian and Laura Sisitzky and Alexa and Andrew, and Nancy and John Alderman and Charlie on the passing of their father and grandfather, Leonard Sisitzky, Oct. 3, 2017/13 Tishrei 5778. Funeral services will be held graveside on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 1:00 p.m., at The Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Jordan Lane and Berlin Turnpike in Wethersfield, Connecticut. The family will observe shiva in Scarsdale, NY and Winchester, MA. A memorial service will be held in Boston at a future date in November. Leonard was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Ertman Sisitzky and by his brother, Aaron Sisitzky. Memorial donations may be made to The Emanuel Synagogue or to a charity of your choice.

Wife Roza Mandler, Emanuel members daughter Monica Pepperman and her husband Dr. Robert Pepperman, grandchildren, Nicole, Jesse and Perri, and their entire family on the passing of Lazar Mandler, August 23, 2017/1 Elul 5777. Funeral services, burial and shiva were held in New York. Memorial donations may be made to Rabbi David Small’s Discretionary Fund at The Emanuel Synagogue.

Wife Goldie Luftglas; daughters Frieda Luftglas and Elaine Levison and her husband Art; son-in-law Stephen Barshay and his wife Janice; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and their entire family on the passing of Roman Luftglas, August 11, 2017/19 Av 5777. Funeral services will be on Sunday, Aug. 13, at 11:00 am in the Main Sanctuary at The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, with interment immediately following at The Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, in Wethersfield. Following interment, shiva will be held on Sunday at the Luftglas residence, 5 Hosmer Drive, West Hartford, until 5 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m., and on Monday and Tuesday, 1:00-5:00 p.m. and 6:30-9:00 p.m., with minyan at 7:00 p.m. each night. Roman was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sharon Barshay.
