Emanuel Synagogue has a vibrant, active community of families with young children who are welcome at all synagogue activities and services.

Kibbitz & Nosh

Meets Thursdays at 11 am. Bring your child and enjoy a little kibitzing (talking), open play, and a little nosh (lunch). Join us weekly or when you can! Open to children 5 and under with their caregiver. Non-members are welcome

High Holy-Days Special Programming


Rosh Hashanah: Sunday September 25,
5:30 pm on Zoom:
Bring in the new year from your own home with this abbreviated service just for families.

Monday & Tuesday, September 26 – 27
10 am at The Emanuel: After the shofar is blown in the sanctuary, join us for a parent/child experience outdoors (weather permitting)

Yom Kippur: Wednesday, October 5
11 am at The Emanuel: Enjoy a parent/child experience outdoors (weather permitting)

6:30 pm at The Emanuel: Return in the evening for a story, snack and games then join the rest of the congregation for the final shofar blast and Havdalah. Kids will receive a glow stick to help out during Havdalah. Please enjoy break-fast with the congregation.

Tot Shabbat

Sing, pray, dance, read stories and play Shabbat-friendly games. This interactive religious service for children ages 5 and under with caregiver, meets on scheduled Saturdays at The Emanuel. The program concludes in the Main Sanctuary with Adon Olam on the bima followed by kiddush with the congregation. Tot Shabbat is free and open to all, as part of our monthly Programming for Kids and Families on Shabbat.


Bagels, Blocks & Beyond

Through music, art, and stories, pre-school aged children and their caregivers learn together about Jewish holidays and values. Bagels, Blocks and Beyond meets various times throughout the year at The Emanuel Synagogue. It is free and open to the community.
