Festivals & Holidays

Festivals & Holidays

Our holiday services feature traditional liturgy with a warm participatory tone. Congregants take an active part alongside our rabbi and cantor and are given opportunities to read Torah, chant Haftarah, and lead portions of the service as shlihei tzibbur (prayer leaders).

Holiday Programs for Families

Jewish holidays provide us with rituals, gatherings, food, prayers, and symbols to incorporate into our lives.

We offer special family and youth services, for both Shabbat and holidays. Age-appropriate activities, discussions and T’filah (prayer) are all incorporated into these services.

We also offer special family programming before many holidays. Some examples include:

  • Sukkah decorating and “Pizza in the Hut” for Sukkot
  • A family pizza party before Simchat Torah and Purim services
  • An all synagogue Purim celebration after megillah reading, including a carnival and Purim Café
  • Chanukah party and more!

Lay participation in our services is welcome. Please contact Hazzan Moshe Pinchover, (860-236-1275/ EMAIL) regarding any bimah honors, Torah, Haftarah or Megillah readings. To give a Dvar Torah, contact Rabbi Small, (860) 236-1275, EMAIL.
